Agent Plugins Directory went live today, one day after OpenAI, Amazon, Cursor, Microsoft and Vercel published the Agent Plugins standard at agent-plugins.org. It opens with 316 plugins pulled from 145 GitHub repositories, and every manifest was fetched and checked against the official 1.0.0 schema before it earned a listing. Anyone building on the standard also gets a free validator for plugin.json and mcp.json, a mirrored copy of the specification with attribution, ecosystem statistics, install guides for ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, VS Code and Kiro, plus a weekly newsletter. Access is free, and the operator is Ellelion LLC.
What it solves
The Agent Plugins standard shipped without a registry, a search index or a validator, so there was no way to find out which plugins exist or whether a plugin.json is actually valid. This directory fetches every manifest and checks it against the official 1.0.0 schema before publishing the entry, and the validator lets anyone check their own manifest before they publish it.
